Welcome to the captivating story of Ceylon Kaneelreis, where passion for cinnamon and the importance of Ceylon cinnamon intertwine. In a world where Cassia cinnamon holds fame in Europe, we recognized the missed opportunity for consumers to experience the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka's true cinnamon. Our mission is to enlighten and delight European palates with the remarkable qualities of Ceylon cinnamon, backed by scientific evidence.

History of the plantation and the company

Our partner, in Sri Lanka has been growing Ceylon Cinnamon and Black Paper on their own property of 70 acres since 2014. They are a grower, processor, and exporter of organic cinnamon products, and their goal is to offer the highest quality products to clients worldwide. They do processing, grading, packing, and exporting of their harvest in-house, and they also manufacture their own organic fertilizer. Their goal is to establish a cooperative spice farming culture where the local farmer gets the same benefit as the exporter.

Environment & Quality

The plantation uses a variety of methods to minimize the environmental impact of cinnamon cultivation. They use organic farming practices, which means that they do not use synthetic pesticides or herbicides. They also use terracing, which is a method of building raised beds to help prevent soil erosion. They plant windbreaks, which are rows of trees that help to protect the plantation from wind damage. And they minimize direct exposure to sunlight by planting trees and shrubs that provide shade for the cinnamon trees.

In addition to these methods, the company also takes steps to conserve biodiversity and protect wildlife. They plant trees and shrubs that provide food and shelter for wildlife, and they avoid the use of pesticides and herbicides, which can harm wildlife. They also practice responsible water and soil management by using drip irrigation to conserve water, and by rotating crops to help maintain soil health.
